How to Provide Liquidity and Sell USDC

As a seller (maker) you deposit USDC into Peer's escrow, set the rates you want per currency, and get paid into your own payment accounts (Venmo, Revolut, Wise, and more) every time a buyer fills your liquidity. Your funds stay in a non-custodial smart contract until a verified payment releases them.

Before you start

  • USDC on Base. Your deposit lives on Base. Coming from another chain or CEX? See Provide Liquidity from a Different Chain.
  • A payment account on at least one supported platform where buyers will pay you.
  • A wallet, or email/Google/X sign-in (gas sponsored).

Step 1: Check the market

Open app.peer.xyz and go to Trade. The order book shows live liquidity per currency: rates versus market, available depth, and limits. This tells you where your rates need to sit to fill.

Step 2: Create a deposit

Click Add liquidity (top-right of the order book, or from Earn), then:

  1. Amount — enter the USDC to deposit, or click Max. Start small on your first deposit.
  2. Payment platform — pick where buyers pay you.
  3. Payee details — the tag or account buyers will send money to.

PayPalMulti-currencyPayPal.me username (omit the paypal.me/ prefix)

Double-check these details — they are exactly where buyers send your money.

Extension verification for Wise and PayPal

Wise and PayPal deposits require identity verification through the PeerAuth extension before the deposit goes live. PayPal must be a personal account — Business accounts cannot register as makers (buyers can still pay you from Business accounts).

Step 3: Set your rates

For each currency, set the price you'll sell USDC at. The app shows your edge versus market as you type: green is above market (more profit, slower fills), red is below market (fills fast, at a loss unless intentional).

You can accept additional payment platforms and currencies on the same deposit — more rails means more buyers can fill you.

For supported currencies, the premium or discount controls configure Automated Rate Management as part of deposit creation. If market pricing is unavailable for a currency, enter a fixed rate instead.

Step 4: Review and confirm

Check the summary: payee tags, rates, and expected proceeds. Optionally override the default order limits under Order Limits (the defaults are shown in the app). Then select Create Deposit. If the token allowance needs approval, confirm the approval prompt and then the deposit transaction.

Step 5: Monitor and get paid

Your deposit appears under Earn with its remaining balance, rates, platforms, and status. From there you can edit rates, add funds, or withdraw whenever no order is in flight.

When a buyer takes your liquidity, they pay your payment account directly and the protocol verifies it — in the normal flow you do nothing. Set up Notifications to get alerted on fills, and see Handling Manual Releases for the rare case where a payment needs your review.

Tips

  • Price to fill. Small premiums fill fast and compound; oversized premiums sit idle. Calculating Maker PnL and APR shows the math.
  • Use a dedicated payment account for clean bookkeeping.
  • Never share your seed phrase. No one from Peer will ever ask for it.
  • Stuck? Ask in the Peer Telegram.
